Account Information: Name, email address, business name, phone number, and payment details when you create an operator account.
Order Data: Guest names, contact details, order contents, modifiers, payment records, and pickup or delivery information processed through your account.
Usage Data: Information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, and interactions.
Device Data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process orders and payments and send related updates
- Send order-ready and status notifications you opt into
- Respond to support requests
- Monitor usage and analyze trends
- Detect, prevent, and address technical and security issues
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Payment processors (such as Stripe or Square) to process order payments securely.
- Messaging providers (such as Twilio) to deliver order-ready and status texts when a guest opts in.
- Email delivery to send transactional messages like order confirmations and receipts.

5. SMS Order Notifications
If you opt in to receive text messages during checkout by providing your phone number, you consent to receive automated transactional texts from the venue you are ordering from, sent through the Plate platform via a third-party messaging provider. Messages may include order confirmations, order-ready alerts, and status updates.
SMS is optional and is not a condition of ordering. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Your phone number is not shared with any other third parties for marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. No method of transmission over the Internet is fully secure.
8. Multi-Tenant Architecture
Plate is a multi-tenant platform. Each business (tenant) has isolated data enforced by row-level security, so tenants can only access their own data. A guest's order data is associated with the venue where they placed the order.
9. Your Rights

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and provide the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics cookies may be used to understand usage patterns.
